The contact surface has been reduced between the body and the
spheres for better vibration control. This helps to make the
background much more transparent compared to Yellow Bird.
The 15, 3mm diameter, specially embedded spheres have inherited
properties from heavy industry. The materials perform much better
than the spheres used in Yellow Bird. Overall thickness of the Hexmat
is 3mm.
The body is a 2mm extruded polymer blend that was developed to
drastically increase the damping coefficient. This extruded polymer
blend is produced exclusively for us.
Zsolt Fajt first introduced this isolation concept with Yellow Bird but
Eclipse is the latest development. Building on the initial success of
Yellow Bird, Eclipse provides better performance, with its extra
features. When Yellow Bird was introduced in 2019 we proved the idea
of isolation works perfectly without changing the tonal balance.
Eclipse is the product that allows you hear your record’s fidelity of
sound without restraint.
The body shape is cut from the extruded polymer material by a
precision laser cutting machine.
After a long process of cleaning and polishing, Zsolt Fajt manually
mounts the spheres individually into the holes with a specifically
designed tool.
Combining these technical and hand processes to craft our mats
takes a few hours plus drying time between the coatings. When the
mat is ready it is placed into a protective case, which we advise to
always use if the mat is stored or transported.
To clean any Hexmat products we advise to use of a soft wet cloth,
wiping the surface gently.
Every single product of Yellow Bird and Eclipse is hand-checked by
