Japanese singer-songwriter m/lue. will release her debut full-length album Ghost of Time digitally on June 25, 2025, simultaneously the Japanese pressing CD version will be available marking her first-ever physical release.

The CD will be released through Infree Records, an independent record shop based in Hong Kong. The release came to life after m/lue. visited the store and was deeply moved by the owner’s sincere passion for sharing truly meaningful records with each individual listener.

Created amid the rapidly changing state of the world, this album turns its attention to the thoughts and wishes left behind by people across time and place.
By recalling close loved ones, familiar places, and past memories, m/lue. sought to imagine distant others and far-off places. She delicately captures the sense of struggle and helplessness she felt in that process—yet still, the quiet hope that lingered within.

Presented in a refined box set adorned with foil stamping, the album is a tactile and visual experience. The accompanying 32-page booklet, printed on carefully selected paper, invites the listener into a world that extends beyond sound—one that can be appreciated as a photo book in itself. Featuring evocative imagery by photographer Kazuhiro Yasuda and a lyric booklet interwoven with 11 striking photographs, the visual narrative is elegantly brought together through the design direction of Wanaka Okada.

The 3^rd track “animals road” will be pre-released on May 21. This acoustic version music video will also be uploaded to YouTube, edited by m/lue. herself using footage from her childhood, resulting in a tender and nostalgic piece that softly evokes memories in the viewer.

【m/lue. Profile】

m/lue. is a Japanese singer-songwriter whose name is derived from the French word “milieu,” meaning “middle” or “environment.” She began composing music in 2020 using GarageBand on her iPhone. Her releases include the EP hibi(2020), arranged by Tomggg, and the mini-album aida (2021), which she arranged herself. Her sound is characterized by layered acoustic instruments, environmental sounds, poetic melodies, and spoken-word-inspired phrasing.

In 2022, she was selected as one of Mikiki’s “Promising New Japanese Artists.” In 2023, she performed as the opening act at SHIN-ONSAI2023, a festival featuring artists such as toe and the Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic.
